China's Influencers Don't Just Push Brands – They Create Their Own

  Haiyan Fu, nicknamed Ava, is a 32-year-old fashion influencer who used to did promotional posts for brands ranging from Louis Vuitton and Dior. Then, in 2016, she and another influencer teamed up to launch their own brand, Ava & Nikki. Fu had no design experience, but would draw pictures and ask suppliers to make the clothes. Today, the brand's clothing tends to go for $30 to $60 an item. When there's a hit piece, she says, she might sell 3,000 to 5,000 of them. Fu models many of them herself.   This time around, the influencers launch their own brands are nothing new.  Having an independent brand means having a consistent and stable content creation capability, thus can increasing the user's stickiness and establishing a solid business model.
